Panna Cooking Review – Is It For You?

Recently, I was introduced to some Panna Cooking videos and I have to say I was impressed!

What is Panna Cooking?

The product is a collection of videos from master chefs. One of the chefs is Andrew Zimmern who hosts the Travel Channel’s Bizarre Foods show, so you know there are some really good recipes to be had here. He’s just one of the many chefs you’ll get to know though. There’s also Anita Lo, Cathy Strange, and Daniel Patternson to name just a few.

They currently have over 300 videos you can watch that include both recipe videos and technique videos.

How Much is Panna Cooking?

It surprisingly doesn’t cost very much at all. It is a subscription based product though that renews every year. But if you find it useful, I’m sure you’ll renew.

You get a 30 day free trial after which you’ll be charged $19.99 per year for your subscription. If you don’t like it, you can cancel anytime during your 30 day free trial. Since the product is videos you can watch, there are no refunds after you’ve been charged.

iPhone/iPad App Available

If you have an iPhone or an iPad, you’ll also be able to watch the videos on those devices. This makes it so very easy to follow the videos and cook along with the chefs. Prop up your iPad in your kitchen and then you get to watch the chef and follow what he or she is doing. Panna Cooking Review

Now, here’s my thoughts on this product. Overall, it’s an excellent product and for the price, I think you get an excellent return on your investment in terms of education and increasing your cooking skills. The videos I’ve watched so far are great and very detailed. I can see exactly what the chefs are doing and they aren’t going so fast that I can’t follow them. You can definitely cook with the video.

It’s interesting to note how the company has changed over the years. Just a few years ago, the company was advertising itself as a cooking magazine, now it’s advertising itself as an educational cooking site with videos from master chefs.

Maybe this is a change in the way the company operates, perhaps the company decided that it makes more money by offering the yearly subscription for $19.99 instead of offering individual magazines for $5.99. Or perhaps, its users wanted access to all the videos instead of just the ones that come with each issue of the magazine.

Either way, I think it was a good move as you now have access to all the videos after you start your free trial, so you can choose whatever you want to learn from the get-go. You’re not limited anymore as to which videos to watch.

Is It For You?

Finally, is Panna Cooking for you?

Panna Cooking is definitely for you if you are an aspiring chef who wants to learn more techniques. It’s also great if you are in culinary school and want to learn more. Even if you currently are a chef, this product may help you fine tune your skills even more.

Panna Cooking is NOT for you if you are a mom or dad who is looking for a quick meal.

No, it’s for those who have the time to spend on learning new techniques and then applying them in the kitchen. You need a bit of concentration to follow these videos.
